CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

Corrective Maintenance is one that performs urgent interventions when an unforeseen stop of a machine occurs because of a break or defect in the material it produces.

The maintenance team goes to the machine to check the situation and determines what should be done according to available resources: spare parts and personnel.

Sometimes it’s better to let the machine stop for a break than to stop it for preventive maintenance. This apparently erroneous procedure is justified by the simple reason that taking a machine from production costs all manufacturing costs. In summary, corrective maintenance should continue to exist.
